Marie believes therapeutic healing begins with the authentic connection between you and your therapist, as this interaction becomes the space for trust and emotional safety to support your growth. Marie has a compassionate, holistic, person-centered approach using components of CBT-based theories, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Solution-Focused (SFBT), Mindfulness work, Somatic Experiencing, and EMDR, meeting the you where they are and helping discover where you’d like to be. She assists you in reconnecting with and harnessing the internal energy, strength, and resilience you already possess to cultivate the changes you seek in your life.
A Nashville native and military veteran, Marie lived in Texas, Maryland, California, and abroad before returning to the mid-state area in 2001. Returning to school later in life, she received her Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling from Argosy University in 2011. Much of Marie’s early career involved working with teens and their families, many of whom were in foster care, the juvenile justice system, and residential treatment settings. Through these experiences, her interest in helping individuals cope with an array of conflict, trauma, self-defeat, loss, and doubt, crystalized into a passion for supporting people in breaking free from their pain and suffering to heal and thrive. She currently sees teens (16+) and adults.
